
Brascia, Fought take down Jansen, Patriquin in quarterfinals
CARY, NC – The No. 22 seeds Maggie Brascia and Todd Fought defeated ninth-seeded Lea Jansen and Hayden Patriquin 11-8, 4-11, 11-7 in the quarterfinals on Friday at the North Carolina Cup.
The utter joy radiating from the victors was undeniable, and with good reason.
Both players will be making their first appearances in a mixed doubles semi-final on the PPA Tour.
It was a back-and-forth nail biter for the majority of the match against
“I definitely didn’t play my best today. But Maggie brought it for us. I just couldn’t make a drop. So, I started serving big and I came up with a couple of nice flicks and we got really lucky,” said Fought.
“Todd is so awesome and we keep having fun out there and we keep winning, so it’s just great,” said Brascia with a smile.
Their semi-finals match up will continue to test this new partnership’s skills as they’ll face off against Tina Pisnik and Dekel Bar.
“I’m feeling like we can’t lose,” said Fought.
