Parenteau ousts Bouchard in quarterfinals
CARY, NC – Second-seeded Catherine Parenteau won the all-Canadian quarterfinal matchup against Genie Bouchard 11-5, 11-4 on Friday at the North Carolina Cup.
A veteran on the pickleball scene, Parenteau was impressed with Bouchard's play.
Remember that Bouchard made her PPA Tour debut in January.
“I went to study a little bit before the match,” confessed Parenteau. “She’s gotten a lot better since the last tournament, so it’s super exciting to see her rising quickly. I think we’re gonna see a lot more of her in singles.”
Parenteau, meanwhile, was pleased with her performance.
“I felt like I did a good job staying in the present moment and just focusing on being aggressive first,” she explained.
Parenteau will go head-to-head with Salome Devidze in the semis.
It was Devidze who won their most recent encounter.
