PPA announces updates to 2024 tournament schedule
DALLAS, TX - It’s hard to believe that we’re already through two PPA tournaments in 2024, having completed the PPA Masters and the Desert Ridge Open.
But some changes are coming to the already-packed tour schedule for 2024, according to a press release from the Tour.
Here’s what those changes entail for the rest of the year.
The Stratusphere Gin Virginia Beach Open is moving from the week of March 18 to the week of Sept. 30. According to the release, moving the dates will allow the facility (Pickleball Virginia Beach) to finish its renovations ahead of the tournament.
This event is also being upgraded to a Cup from an Open, meaning that the winners will receive 1500 points, instead of 1000.
In another change, the Cincinnati Open—one of four Slams scheduled for this year—will now be played at Life Time Peachtree Corners in Atlanta because of renovations to the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
This is a temporary change according to the release, and the expectation is that the event will be back at the regular site in the future.
On top of that, two more events have been locked into the 2024 schedule: the Veolia LA Open taking place at Los Cab Sports Village April 17-21, and an event in Salt Lake City, UT, the week of Aug. 19.
