Waters wows to claim women’s singles title
PHOENIX, AZ - Anna Leigh Waters told PickleballTV’s Dave Fleming that she gets more nervous for singles matches than for doubles matches.
But none of those nerves were present in her gold medal singles match against Mary Brascia on Sunday morning.
With her backhand looking especially sharp, the 17-year-old cruised to an 11-2, 11-1 victory to start her quest for a 22nd PPA Tour Triple Crown on a positive note.
Her next championship match is women’s doubles alongside Catherine Parenteau, and the pair will take Meghan Dizon and Etta Wright.
