DEVELOPMENT
Michael Loyd's journey from basketball courts to pickleball courts is a testament to his versatility and passion for sports. Growing up across Texas, Michael honed his skills in basketball and tennis, eventually finding his way to Division 1 tennis at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
It was during the challenging times of the pandemic in 2020 that Michael discovered pickleball as a means of staying active. However, it wasn't until after completing his MBA and collegiate tennis career in 2022 that he truly embraced the sport, picking up a paddle once again.
After a stint working for HEAD pickleball, Michael made the bold decision to pursue professional pickleball in September 2023, eager to test his skills against the best in the sport. As the oldest brother in a tight-knit family, Michael finds joy in spending time with his siblings, Jason and Madelyn, as well as his parents, John and Carrie Loyd.
Beyond the pickleball court, Michael's interests include collecting, contemplating his next tattoo, and giving back to the community through volunteer work with youth at his local church. With his passion for sports and commitment to personal growth, Michael Loyd is poised to make a significant impact both on and off the pickleball court.
