Anderson Scarpa, a 30-year-old native of Charleston, South Carolina, is a graduate of Mercer University, where he excelled in Division 1 college tennis. Following his education, he ventured into the family business, specializing in resurfacing tennis courts. It was through this work that he found his passion for pickleball, particularly after his involvement in painting pickleball courts.
Since delving into the sport in 2020 and actively competing in tournaments from 2021 onwards, Anderson has amassed an impressive record, securing six medals on the APP tour in mixed and men’s doubles categories. Notable highlights include a commendable 5th place finish in men’s doubles at the 2022 PPA NC event and another 5th place finish in singles at the 2023 Desert Ridge Open. His list of victories in doubles includes triumphs over renowned players such as Collin Johns, Pat Smith, Zane Navratil, Pablo Tellez, Rafa Hewett, and Brendon Long.
Anderson has also made his mark in the Major League Pickleball (MLP), representing two different teams, Arizona Drive and BLQK, across three events. With his leadership, both teams advanced to the quarterfinals.
Beyond his achievements on the court, Anderson is happily married with a 10-month-old daughter named Alivia.
