Mohaned "Mo" Alhouni's journey from Tripoli, Libya to Minnesota is a testament to his resilience and pursuit of opportunities. Arriving in the United States amidst political upheaval in Libya, Mo sought solace and growth through academics and tennis. With over two decades of competitive tennis experience under his belt, Mo made a significant impact on the collegiate tennis scene at Gustavus Adolphus College.
During his time at Gustavus Adolphus, Mo distinguished himself as a five-time All-American and clinched the ITA National Singles Championship in 2017, ascending to the coveted position of #1 in Division III tennis rankings. His remarkable achievements on the tennis court solidified his status as a formidable athlete.
In May 2022, Mo's sporting journey took an unexpected turn when he was introduced to pickleball by friends and family. Embracing the new challenge with enthusiasm, Mo made his professional pickleball debut at the Lakeville Minnesota tournament in 2023. Since then, he has been making waves in the pickleball community, competing in various PPA tournaments and steadily ascending the rankings.
Mo's involvement in pickleball extends beyond competition. As a member of the MLP team "Las Vegas Night Owls" and a participant on the tennis and pickleball board at Life Time, he actively contributes to the growth and development of the sport.
Mo Alhouni's story exemplifies the transformative power of sports and the unwavering determination to seize opportunities, no matter the circumstances.
